variations of a theme

i love the beautiful ruggedness of Vermont, dark hidden streams with cool water splashing, aged trees covered with moss & lichen leaning this way & that.
these first 2 paintings done in soft pastels, capture the beauty i see of the rugged wooded stream.

These next two paintings, i'm not thrilled with,  are a whimsical pastoral variation.

All these paintings were done on 5x7 Ampersand pastelboard. It's coated in clay & is wonderful to work on!! It takes tons of layers beautifully & one can even paint on it! Try it & you'll love it ♥

thanks for visiting my blog Diane! Sounds like you've had some computer trouble - sorry to hear that. Hopefully the troubles are all behind you now... lovely streams should cheer you up! Painting always does that for me anyways.
Thanks for listing my blog on your roll... I've done likewise. Cheers!

Diane! Your painting is really truly awesome! I want to feature some on my Tumblr blog, if you don't mind. With credit and link of course. That is, when I get back to Tumblr. I'm having to take a break for now.
Your blog looks awesome by the way. Since my blogspot has been on hold (very extended break!) I've gotten so behind catching up with my art friends. I'm so glad we had a tiny tweet-fest this a.m.!
