these paintings are my first in acrylic. phase one, which i didn't photograph, were broad washes of color.

phase 2 pink

phase 2 gold
phase two, i experimented with lines & shapes which turned into clouds & grass.
phase three, more experiments & strokes. I fell in love with the knife painting technique that i added to the grass in the "pink" sky painting. I didn't have a painting knife but read that one could use a butter knife & it worked nicely for this small piece.

phase3 pink

phase 3 gold
I love the skies on these, but i like the grasses better on the "phase two"... I'm going to try this concept again but using the knife for all of the grasses. i think i'll have less grass & perhaps having more sky. I am also wondering about doing the sky with the knife & see what happens. i love to experiment!

Very colorful.......I like phase 2 with the clouds....add a few birds and you got a beautiful painting.
Hi Diane,
Those first paintings are beautiful.
I have one painting that I did completely with a palette knife. It was a very interesting abstract.
I have 2 questions for you:
What size are the paintings? Do you like painting with acrylics?
I can't wait to see more.
Blessings
