Inspired by my friend Katy's blog about an artisan's work space, I thought I'd share mine with you as well.My "studio" is actually half of a very small room that is also shared by my husband's "ham radio" set up. Do you see that fabulous & organized space in the photos? It was 9 years in the making, but Art did all of that!
I was very content using the table (a rejected count top from our local building supply center) with drawers (from a discount store) & shelving that Art had also previously made for me. However I had SaraLee deli containers, (cleaned of course! ;D) & filled with stones, beads, wire, tools etc; all piled high on my table, leaving me very little usable work space.
When I came back from Chicago in April, where I was helping our daughter prepare for the birth of our second granddaughter; this fabulous studio was awaiting me!! And without my consent I might add!!
See the green shelves in the pictures? Those were new to my space & what a change they made! I actually can sit there & create! And the new shelves even have a spot that holds the "bust display" perfectly! The chest of drawers hold all my shipping supplies: gift boxes, tissue, ribbons, mailers, business cards, earring cards, & other needed items. He moved it from the other side of the room to make an L shaped work zone for me!
Here's the kicker... prior to the trip to Chicago, Art had asked several times over the years to help me reorganize my work area & I always said "no thanks", that "everything is just fine"!
Just think, it could have been this fabulous years ago!!
